The defending Champion teams of the UEFA League, will be granted the privilege to defend his title.There is a restriction in which four teams from same association can not play in the Champions League.

The positions of the teams in their respective leagues is shown in parentheses. Changes from previous seasonAfter two seasons the league champion of Denmark loses direct access to the group stage for the league champion from Switzerland.

The league champion Turkey (Fenerbahçe)  and League Serbia (Red Star Belgrade) may not compete in this edition to be serving a sanction from UEFA. His position will be filled by the runner of their respective leagues.
